Free Pre-Order Meal Packs Offered During Winter Break
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.– Fayetteville Public Schools Child Nutrition will offer free meal packs during the winter break, which is December 21 through January 1. The five-day meal packs (five breakfasts and five lunches) will be available for pick up on Tuesday, December 22 and Tuesday, December 29.
Similar to the school district’s summer meal program, the nutritious meal packs are free to anyone age 18 or younger, according to Ally Mrachek, Director of Child Nutrition for Fayetteville Public Schools.
Meal packs for Fayetteville Public School students can be pre-ordered online at www.myschoolbucks.com. Non-Fayetteville Public Schools families should call 479-305-0023 to order meal packs.
The meal packs will be available for pick up on December 22 and December 29 at Fayetteville High School from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Fayetteville High School is located at 944 W. MLK Blvd. Enter from Buchanan Street to pick up the meal packs. A face mask is required when picking up meals to help keep families and staff safe.
“I am very pleased that we can once again help meet the needs of our community during the winter break,” said Dr. John L Colbert, Superintendent of Schools. “We know that some of our students don’t always have access to healthy meals during the break, and we hope this meets that need and helps them to eat more nutritious meals.”
