
Don't forget Book Hogs Reading Contest has started. Please log your child's minutes of reading every day for the month of February in their playbooks! Playbooks should be returned March 1st. Don't forget that being read to counts as minutes also! Minutes can only qualify after school is out or weekends. Classroom reading does not qualify. 360 minutes is the minimum minutes students are required to read to receive a prize and be entered into the drawing of the Book Hog Field Trip to Bud Walton Arena.

TODAY is National Crosswalk/Crossing Guard Appreciation Day! We will be giving our crosswalk guards some special treatment from the parents. I'd encourage parents to have their students write a little thank you note to give them just as a little special thanks for keeping them safe when crossing.

Washington Elementary's Book Swap is coming February 27th. Mark your calendars! Donations for this event are greatly appreciated. Books can be dropped off in the plastic bin located in the hallway that runs alongside the office anytime between now and February 22nd. Please read aloud to your children often and talk about the importance of reading!
